Course description

Applied Technical Communication is where technical writing turns into practical expertise. This high-impact course takes learners beyond concepts, offering guided experience through a series of scenario-based projects focused on documentation, editing, and communication challenges faced in modern workplaces.

Participants will explore the differences across document types, then put their skills into action by drafting instructions, policies, flowcharts, and more. With a strong focus on usability, precision, and collaboration, learners will gain experience selecting appropriate editing levels and applying current communication tools and strategies.

Each activity mirrors the types of challenges professionals encounter on the job. The final assessment allows learners to demonstrate editing mastery by revising a professional document and developing a polished policy using advanced review techniques. This course equips learners with tangible results and proof of their abilities through a professional-grade portfolio.
