Introducing High School Pro Advantage

There are more career options than ever before out there, and it can be hard for your high schooler to decide what career they want to pursue when they haven’t had the chance to experience hands-on what it’s like to work in that field. They may even be deciding whether or not college is the right choice for them because they’re unsure what campus life would be like and whether or not they would like it.

RIT Certified understands all of these pressures, and we’re excited to say that we’ve created the High School Pro Advantage summer program to give students the chance to get hands-on experience with different options for their futures. Our unique one week intensive courses push past the basics with expert instructors, hands-on learning, and in-depth programming covering a range of industries so your teen can explore what they’re passionate about and find out what it’s really like to have a future in that field.

These in-person courses cover topics ranging from photography to engineering to political science to crafting and more. Each five-day course runs from 9 am to 5 pm and will include students diving deeper into what it’s really like to have a career in the field they’re passionate about. Courses are taught by experts in their fields that not only have relevant experience, but also are currently working in their industries right now, which will give students the chance to learn what the current climate of the industry is like. So whether your high school student is interested in a future as a politician, product designer, commercial interior designer, photojournalist, jeweler, or more, they can find out what their life might look like in the profession of their choice before really diving into further education or professional work.

Each of our summer courses will take place in person during one of two sessions running from July 17th to 21st and July 24th to 28th. Students can choose to attend one (or both!) sessions and dive into the field they’re passionate about. All courses are based on the RIT campus, which means that your students will have the chance to use our state of the art facilities, labs, and classrooms. Many of the courses also include field trips to relevant locations around Rochester and the surrounding regions, so if you or your student is interested in RIT as a college they’ll get a chance to find out what Rochester has to offer. Residential and commuter options are available, and residential students will be living in RIT’s dorms for the week and experiencing what it’s like to live on a college campus.

Teresa Spivey, a student in last year’s Cryptocurrency and Blockchain: Diving into Decentralized Treasure course, loved her experience with High School Pro Advantage and shared this about her experience:

My future plans are to learn everything I can and really find my passion for what I want to do forever. I will figure that out by learning and experiencing other classes and opportunities like this one.
— Teresa Spivey

This summer, let your high school student explore what they’re passionate about with RIT Certified’s High School Pro Advantage courses. Students will get a chance to explore what they’re passionate about without the usual pressures that come along with high school and have fun while getting hands-on experience.
