AI as an Inspiration Engine: Applied Ideation Workflow

RITx Course
WRK-AIAP-1004

Learn a repeatable Inspiration Engine workflow you can run end-to-end—turning challenges into better options and decision-ready next steps with built-in checks.

In-Person
4 Hours

Description

Great ideas shouldn’t depend on luck or starting from scratch. In this applied workflow workshop, you’ll learn the end-to-end Inspiration Engine process and how to run it consistently across projects and teams. Building on foundational AI habits, we’ll show how to move from challenge framing to option generation, refinement, and decision-ready next steps—using AI at the right moments to expand thinking, surface assumptions, and accelerate alignment.

The focus is repeatability and ROI: defining steps, checkpoints, and outputs so results are consistent, reviewable, and reusable. You’ll see how prompt patterns map to each stage of the workflow, how goals, constraints, and success criteria improve option quality, and where quick verification checks and redirects belong so outputs are trustworthy and fit for purpose. We’ll also preview how a repeatable workflow can evolve into an agent-style AI assistant when that approach makes sense—without requiring a specific platform.

You’ll leave with a workflow structure you can apply immediately, plus a reusable prompt sequence that helps reduce idea churn, improve output quality, and speed alignment.

Outcomes

Each outcome is taught through applied practice, so you can use the workflow immediately.

  • Learn the Ideation Workflow End-to-End
Use a repeatable process to move from challenge framing to option generation, refinement, verification, and decision-ready next steps.
  • Create a Reusable Prompt Sequence
Design a structured prompt sequence that supports each stage of the workflow, including when to continue, redirect, or restart to get better results.
  • Apply Constraints for Better Options
Use goals, constraints, and quality bars to improve relevance, increase variety, and reduce shallow or repetitive outputs during ideation.
  • Build Verification and Refinement into the Flow
Use quick verification habits, red-flag checks, and prompt adjustments to improve outputs and make them more trustworthy, reviewable, and fit for purpose.
  • Define Workflow Checkpoints and Outputs
Identify the key steps, checkpoints, and deliverables that make the workflow consistent, easier to review, and easier to improve over time.
  • Understand When a Workflow Becomes an Assistant
See how a prompt-based workflow can be packaged into an agent-style assistant—and when that step is worth it.

The Learning Experience

This in-person, 4-hour workshop is demo-led and workflow-focused (no laptop required). It’s best if you’ve completed Ideas, Prompts & Proof or already have basic experience using an AI chat tool and can provide clear inputs such as goals, context, and constraints. You’ll watch the workflow run end-to-end, see how prompts map to each step, and learn where checkpoints, redirects, and quick verification habits strengthen results. You’ll leave with a reusable workflow structure, checkpoints, and prompt sequence you can apply in your own tools after the session.

What makes it different

AI training + ideation/design-thinking expertise—so outputs improve, not just speed.

Why take the series

Whether you’re new to AI or already experimenting, you’ll build a practical foundation, learn a repeatable ideation workflow, then finish by creating a custom assistant—with takeaways you can apply immediately after each workshop.

Series workshops

Ideas, Prompts & Proof

Core AI foundations, risks, tool categories, and responsible-use decision making introduced through ideation examples

Applied Ideation Workflow

A reusable end-to-end process for challenge → options → decision-ready next steps

Custom Ideation Assistant (Guided Build Studio)

Small cohort + 1:1 instructor guidance to build and test an agent-style AI assistant for your use case

Best for

Teams and professionals who need better starts: scoping a new initiative, unblocking a stuck project, generating options, and aligning stakeholders on next steps.
